‘Where do we go? Always home.’
Novalis, Hymnes à la nuit (1800)

Sans titre (2016) presents « A Song I Wrote for my Four Year-Old Nephew », Orfeo Tagiuri’s first solo exhibition.

The feeling of a constant uprooting marked Orfeo Tagiuri’s childhood. As a result of his family constant moves, the idea of a home, a shelter associated with memories and full of reassuring elements, has become a fantasy. Their houses never host them long enough to store decent benchmarks, accumulated objects that are the basis of the human memory.

Therefore, the childhood nostalgia of the artist is not determined by a place but by its absence.

For Orfeo Tagiuri, the shelter, the shack, the ‘home sweet home’ becomes the experience, the people that inhabited it and the memories related to them. This mobile house becomes the luggage you carry with you all the time. Building this shelter is an adventure, a trip from childhood to adulthood.
