Fair: Material 2019, Mexico City
Material Art Fair, Mexico City
with Ieva Kraule & Maximilian Kirmse
For its second participation to Material Art Fair, Sans titre (2016) is presenting a duo presentation of the works of two young artists depicting their radical visions of modern society. Maximilian Kirmse (Berlin, 1986) is inspired by the everyday life of his neighborhood of Schoenberg, in Berlin. He offers a poetic vision of a sweet and sour reality where violence and creativity cohabit, in a place where the daily life is marked by encounters with other artists, drugs consumers, and the melting pot of its inhabitants. On the contrary, Ieva Kraule (Riga, 1987) projects herself in a more fluctuant temporarily and sees the world through the utopia and dystopias that she creates. Her main interests encompasses artificial intelligence, eugenic, ruins of modernity etc. We will present a new body of works inspired by traditional Latvian folklore and its projection in a fantasised future.
